Steam Encounters in the USA vol. 1: Toledo's Central Union Terminal

April 19, 2024

Jim Guerin travels to Toledo, Ohio in April 1955

I've produced the first video in a series for the upcoming Steam Encounters in the USA vol. 1. This volume will feature the work of Jim Guerin, as already showcased in three previous books in the Encounters series.

In this video, we start from Guerin's hometown of Galt, Ontario and travel to Toledo, Ohio on Easter Weekend 1955. Our first stop in Toledo is the Central Union Terminal, where passenger trains from the NYC, B&O, C&O and Wabash call.

Our introductory video (above) features Jim's Guerin travelling from his home in Galt, Ontario to Toledo, Ohio on Easter Weekend 1955.

Or, click the book title link anywhere in this post to navigate to the Steam Encounters in the USA vol. 1 page and watch it there (that's where all the goodies will gather).

A few days from now, I’ll put together a second video for you. That one will dig into train movements at the Wabash Tower diamond crossing, between the Central Union Terminal and the NYC Maumee River drawbridge, just 0.4 miles east of the station.
